India state extends bidding to upgrade 30-MW Kulhal

State utility Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd. (UJVNL) has extended bidding to renovate, modernize, and upgrade the 30-MW Kulhal hydroelectric project in India’s Uttarakhand State. The new deadline for bids is October 31.

UJVNL previously called for bids by July 26. It took bids in April for similar work at the 41.4-MW Khatima project.

The utility said it seeks refurbishment or replacement of vital parts of Kulhal’s three 10-MW generating units, such as turbine runners, guide vanes, governors, excitation systems, stators, and rotors. Work includes reverse engineering, design, and manufacture of new components, as well as repair of old components, reassembly, and commissioning.

Bid documents may be obtained for 100,000 rupees (US$2,248) either from the address below or from the Internet site of UJVNL, www.uttarakhandjalvidyut.com. Payment is by demand draft or banker’s check in favor of Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd., State Bank of India, Account No. 30024638487, payable at Dehradun.
