India state offers lease of two mini-hydros

Madhya Pradesh State Electricity Board (MPSEB) invites bids by May 2 for lease of the 1-MW Satpura Return Canal and 1.005-MW Morand hydroelectric projects in Madhya Pradesh State. Bidding documents must be obtained by March 30.

Satpura (Specification No. CEC/P&D:PROJECT/1206) has two 500-kW units and is located in Betul District. Morand (Specification No. CEC/P&D:PROJECT/1207) has three 335-kW units and is located in Hoshangabad District.

MPSEB proposes that the projects be leased in “as is, where is” condition for their operation and maintenance on an energy-generated basis. All the energy generated is to be supplied only to MPSEB.

Bid documents and details for each project may be obtained from the address below until March 30 for 1,000 rupees (US$22), plus 75 rupees (US$1.65) for postage, by crossed Indian postal order to Sr. AO (CAU) MP State Electricity Board, Jabalpur. Applicants for bid documents must submit qualifications, including evidence of three or more years’ experience in operating and maintaining such projects, company organizational documents, and their EPF code numbers from India’s EPF commissioner.
