India state pre-qualifies builders of 12 small projects

Kerala State’s Small Hydro Promotion Cell (SHPC) invites applications for pre-qualification from independent power producers or potential power consumers to develop 12 small hydropower projects in Kerala. Responses are due June 15.

Detailed project reports are available for all sites. SHPC plans to award projects to independent power producers based on the lowest quoted levelized tariff for sale of power to Kerala State Electricity Board. Projects would be awarded to power consumers for “captive” power projects based on quoted up-front premiums.

Tender documents may be obtained until June 12 from the address below for 1,000 rupees (US$22.30), plus a 20,000 rupee (US$446) processing fee by demand draft to Small Hydro Promotion Cell at Thiruvananthapuram. The documents also may be obtained from the Internet at www.keralaenergy.gov.in, with the fees submitted at the time of application.

Applications for pre-qualification are due by 4 p.m. June 15.
