India state seeks bids to equip two small hydros

Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) seeks bids to equip two small hydro projects in India’s Tamil Nadu State on an engineering-procurement-construction basis. Bids are due July 11.

Except for powerhouse civil works, the contract is to include supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of two 5-MW bulb turbine-generators, crane, transformers, controls, and protection for 10-MW Bhavani Barrage 1 and 10-MW Bhavani Barrage 2. Bid documents may be obtained from the address below until June 26 for 11,350 rupees (US$350) in cash, banker’s check, or demand draft to TNEB Collection Account at Chennai. The documents also may be obtained from TNEB’s Internet site,, with the fee subsequently paid to the agency.
