India state seeks EM equipment for 111-MW Sawra Kuddu

India’s Himachal Pradesh Power Corp. Ltd. (HPPC) seeks bids for electro-mechanical equipment for the 111-MW Sawra Kuddu hydroelectric project on India’s Pabbar River. Bids are due July 7.

In the latest solicitation, HPPC seeks bids for design, supply, installation, and commissioning of electro-mechanical works including three 37-MW turbine-generators, auxiliaries, generator transformers, 245-kilovolt gas-insulated switchgear, XLPE cable, and other equipment for the powerhouse, pothead yard, dam area, and BFV house area.

Bid documents, in English, may be obtained from the address below for 20,000 rupees or US$500. Courier delivery costs an additional 1,000 rupees for domestic delivery or US$100 for overseas delivery. A pre-bid conference is scheduled for June 12.

Sawra Kuddu is one of four run-of-river projects proposed for construction under the Multi-Tranche Financing Facility for Himachal Clean Power Development program, to be funded by the Asian Development Bank. (HNN 4/27/06)

One of the other projects, 195-MW Kashang on the Kashang River in Kinnaur District, has been offered for bids in a separate solicitation.
