India state seeks rehab of 41.4-MW Khatima, equipment for 120-MW Vyasi

State utility Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd. (UJVNL) seeks bids to renovate, modernize, and upgrade the 41.4-MW Khatima hydroelectric project in India’s Uttarakhand State. Bids are due April 19.

UJVNL said it seeks turnkey rehab work on Khatima, which features three 13.8-MW generating units. Work includes dismantling, reverse engineering, design, and manufacture of new components, as well as repair of old components, reassembly, and commissioning of electro-mechanical and hydro-mechanical works. The work is valued at 1.7 billion rupees (US$39 million).

Uttarakhand extends bidding to equip 120-MW Vyasi

Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd. has extended the deadline for bids to supply electro-mechanical works for the 120-MW Vyasi hydroelectric project on the Yamuna River in Uttarakhand. Bids now are due June 29.

Vyasi was one of five projects for which India hydro developer NHPC Ltd. sought consultants in 2008 to assist in carbon credits marketing.

UJVNL said it seeks detailed design and engineering, manufacture, installation, testing, and commissioning of electro-mechanical equipment and systems for Vyasi, which is to include two 60-MW generating units. The work is valued at 1.5 billion rupees (US$35.2 million).

Bid documents may be obtained until June 22 for 112,500 rupees or US$2,350 either from the address below or from the Internet sites of UJVNL, www.uttarakhandjalvidyut.com.
