India state seeks staff training in small hydro, transmission

The Uttarakhand Energy Department invites expressions of interest from consultants to train Uttarakhand State agency staff in working with small hydropower, transmission, and substation programs. Responses are due November 3.

The state seeks a consulting firm or institution to design, organize, conduct, and monitor training programs for officers of the Uttarakhand Power Project Management Office, Power Transmission Corp. of Uttarakhand Ltd., and developer Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd.

The training, for officers involved in Asian Development Bank-funded small hydro, transmission, and substation projects, is to be in fields of technology, management, accounts, and human resources. (HNN 9/9/08)

The selected firm must have training experience in areas such as construction management, project management, purchase management, contract management, supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, protection systems, GIS/GPS, simulation, information technology applications, quality assurance, general management, and accounts.
