India state seeks switchyards for 600-MW Kameng

North Eastern Electric Power Corp. Ltd. (NEEPCO) seeks bids to supply switchyards for the 600-MW Kameng hydroelectric project on the Bichom and Kameng rivers in India’s Arunachal Pradesh State. Bids are due March 2.

NEEPCO seeks design, engineering, manufacture, supply, installation, and commissioning of 400-kilovolt and 132-kV switchyards with associated civil and structural work. The work is to require 24 months.

India’s OM Metals Ltd. received a US$53 million contract in 2005 to supply all hydro-mechanical equipment, steel structures, and penstock for Kameng.

Bid documents for the latest solicitation may be obtained until February 10 from the address below upon payment of 10,000 rupees or US$250 in the form of a demand draft to NEEPCO Ltd., Shillong, India.
