India state to seek equipment for 13 small projects

Uttaranchal Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd. (UJVNL) invites expressions of interest by May 30 from suppliers to equip 13 small hydro projects in India’s Uttaranchal State.

The state-owned hydro developer said it plans to short list firms to design, engineer, manufacture, install, and commission turbines, valves, governors, generators, cables, controls, switchyards, and substations on a turnkey basis.

UJVNL said companies may submit expressions of interest and qualifications to equip any or all of the projects:
o 4.5-MW Asiganga 1, 3-MW Asiganga 2, 3-MW Asiganga 3, all on Asiganga River in Uttarkashi District;
o 8-MW Sobla 1 on Sobla River in Pithoragarh District;
o 12-MW Tankul on Shaborigad River in Pithoragarh;
o 11-MW Bhilangna 2 on Bhilangna River in Tehri District;
o 4-MW Kaliganga 1 and 6-MW Kaliganga 2 on Kaliganga River in Rudraprayag District;
o 4-MW Pilangad 2 on Pilangad River in Uttarkashi;
o 3-MW Suringad 2 on Suringad River in Pithoragarh;
o 4-MW Painagad on Painagad River in Pithoragarh;
o 300-kW Kalsa on Kalsa River in Naintal District; and
o 3.8-MW Urgam 2 on Kalpganga River in Chamoli District.

Pre-qualification documents may be obtained from UJVNL’s Internet site, Site visits may be arranged. Expressions of interest are due by 3 p.m. May 30. Short-listed firms will be announced June 20. Presentations are to be made to UJVNL on June 29.
