Indonesia seeks feasibility study, design of 1,000-MW Matenggeng pumped-storage

Indonesia utility PT PLN Persero invites expressions of interest from consultants to perform a feasibility study and basic design and to draft bid documents for the 1,000-MW Matenggeng pumped-storage hydropower project in Indonesia. Responses are due December 4.

The World Bank approved a US$640 million loan in 2011 to assist with the development of Indonesia’s 1,040-MW Upper Cisokan pumped-storage project, which includes Matenggeng. PT PLN is pre-qualifying contractors by December 16 for construction of Upper Cisokan.

PT PLN originally said it planned to seek consultants in 2009 for a feasibility study, basic design, and bidding documents for Matenggeng. The current solicitation is due to a revised scope of work for the pumped-storage project.

The utility now says it seeks consultants to update a pre-feasibility study of Matenggeng that was completed in April 1997. Additionally, for preparation of feasibility level design, it seeks site investigations, determination of overall project configuration, development design parameters, and design of project works. Work also is to include preparation of bid documents.

Expressions of interest are due to the address below by 3 p.m. December 4. For information, contact PT PLN (Persero) Kantor Pusat, Gedung Utama, Lt. 15, Jl.
