Indonesia seeks pump-turbines, generators for 1,040-MW Upper Cisokan pumped-storage

Indonesia utility PT PLN Persero invites applications for pre-qualification to supply pump-turbines, generator-motors and auxiliary equipment for the 1,040-MW Upper Cisokan pumped-storage hydroelectric project in Indonesia. Responses are due August 7.

The World Bank approved a US$640 million loan in 2011 to assist with the development of Upper Cisokan on the Cisokan River, a tributary of the Citarum River in West Java. PT PLN invited pre-qualification in June to supply hydraulic metal works for construction of the project. Last year it pre-qualified firms to construct upper and lower dams, waterways, powerhouse, and switchyard of Upper Cisokan.

The project is to have four 260-MW reversible Francis pump-turbines in an underground powerhouse, two roller-compacted-concrete dams impounding upper and lower reservoirs, and transmission lines connecting with the Java-Bali power system.

PT PLN now invites pre-qualification for Package 2 – Pump-Turbine, Generator-Motor and Auxiliary Equipment. It expects to issue invitations to bid in November.

Pre-qualification documents in English may be obtained from the address below for 5 million rupiah or US$500. PT PLN’s bank for U.S. dollars is PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero), Cabang Utama Melawai Raya, Account PT PLN (Persero) No. 173-777-52, SWIFT Code BNINIDJA. Its bank for rupiah is PT Bank Mandiri (Persero), Cabang PLN Kantor Pusat, Account PT PLN (Persero) Kantor Pusat No. 1260006284342.
