Italian utility awards civil works contract for 4.19-MW Belfiore small hydro plant

Italian municipal utility Azienda Generale Sevizi Municipali di Verona SpA (AGSM) has awarded Arcas SpA a US$5.1 million contract for civil works associated with the 4.19-MW Belfiore small hydropower plant.

AGSM solicited bids in August for work that includes construction of new power plant civil works, modification of existing civil works and installation of gates for completion of the small hydro project. The work is expected to take six months to complete.

The Belfiore plant will be constructed below the existing 20-MW Zevio project on SAVA Canal on the Adige River.

AGSM awarded a contract to Andino Hydropower Engineering Sari to supply and install three Kaplan turbine-generators and associated electro-mechanical equipment this past February.
