Italy utility qualifies turbine, generator suppliers

Enel S.p.A. invites hydro equipment suppliers to qualify to provide turbines and generators to projects in the Italian utility’s hydroelectric system.

In one qualification system notice, Enel said it plans to qualify companies to supply turbines and reversible turbines and pumps. In a second notice, it said it plans to qualify suppliers of hydro generator groups of 10 MW or less. Enel issued a similar notice in 2007 for equipment suppliers. (HNN 6/1/07)

Companies are to be qualified for three years, with the possibility of a three-year extension.

Applications for qualification are to be sent to the address below, preferably by use of Enel’s Internet purchasing site, www.acquisti.enel.it. Applications are to be accompanied by 1,500 euros (US$1,908) plus 20 percent tax, payable to Enel S.r.l.
