Kazakhstan seeks grid, substation work to link 300-MW Moinak hydro

Kazakhstan’s grid operator invites applications for pre-qualification to construct transmission lines to interconnect the 300-MW Moinak hydroelectric project on Kazakhstan’s Charyn River. Responses are due July 2.

The World Bank approved a US$48 million loan in 2009 for the power line project to carry electricity from Moinak, under construction in southern Kazakhstan, to the Shelek and Robot substations. (HydroWorld 9/23/09)

Kazakhstan Electricity Grid Operating Co. (KEGOC) invites applications for pre-qualification to design, construct, and commission high-voltage transmission lines, including a 220-kilovolt Moinak-Shelek line and a 220-kV Moinak-Robot line. (HydroWorld 6/16/09)

Pre-qualification documents may be obtained from the address below by application labeled “Request for Pre-qualification Document under the Contract for Design, Construction and Commissioning of high-voltage transmission lines 220-kV Moinak HPP-Shelek SS and 220-kV Moinak HPP-Robot SS,” accompanied by a fee of 100 euros (US$123) or the equivalent in a convertible currency.
