Knight Construction wins award for Fall Creek Dam gate rehabilitation

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has awarded a US$2.1 million contract to Knight Construction & Supply Co. for tainter gate rehabilitation at the Fall Creek Dam in Oregon.

The Corps’ Portland District sought bids for the work in August, which includes rehab of one tainter gate and an option for a second.

Fall Creek Damn is a flood control, navigation and irrigation project on Fall Creek. The Corps took bids in 2011 for sampling and abatement of asbestos at 21 dams, including Fall Creek.

HydroWorld.com reported in September that Knight Construction was awarded a contract from the Bureau of Reclamation to refurbish gates at Prosser Creek Dam in California.
