Konecranes acquires Indiana-based industrial equipment manufacturer

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio 7/6/12 (PennWell) — Industrial equipment manufacturer Konecranes has acquired Ameratronic Industries Inc., HydroWorld.com has learned.

Konecranes acquired the Indiana-based Ameratronic Industries June 21 after the retirement of its previous owners. The company has provided crane and hoist services for 17 years and will be incorporated into Konecranes’ existing branch in Crown Point, Ind.

HydroWorld.com reported in June that Konecranes was selected to provide two 410-ton gantry cranes for the Ludington Pumped-Storage Plant in Michigan, and Canada’s BC Hydro purchased three pieces of equipment for its Mica hydroelectric plant in April 2011.
