Lucerne utility selects Andritz for Arni small hydropower plant upgrade

Andritz Hydro AG has won a US$1 million contract to replace the turbine-generator unit of the 2.5-MW Arni hydropower plant in Switzerland.

Lucerne utility ewl Kabelnetz AG solicited bids for the work in March.

Per the tender notice, Andritz is to supply a multi-nozzle Pelton turbine with 2.8 megavolt-ampere generating set as a replacement for the existing turbine-generator at Arni. The work is to be performed between October 2015 and April 2016.
