Macedonia awards repair contract for damaged Pishica Dam

Macedonia’s Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy has awarded a US$1 million contract to DGTT Trans Met DOO to repair the flood-damaged Pishica Dam in Probishtip.

The agency sought bids for the work in June for rehabilitation of the structure that was damaged by flooding in February 2013.

Another water management agency, JP Strezevo, last year took bids for repairs and maintenance of equipment for hydropower projects. Utility AD Elektrarni na Makedonija also took bids last year for technical supervision of dam safety civil work at the 36.4-MW St. Petka and 82-MW Kozjak hydroelectric projects and to construct the dam and other civil works of the 70-MW Boskov Most hydroelectric project.
