Macedonia seeks supervision of dam safety work at 36.4-MW St. Petka, 82-MW Kozjak

Macedonia utility AD Elektrarni na Makedonija (Elem) seeks bids for technical supervision of dam safety civil work to be performed at the 36.4-MW St. Petka and 82-MW Kozjak hydroelectric projects in Macedonia. Bids are due August 21.

Elem took bids in March to construct the dam and other civil works of the 70-MW Boskov Most hydroelectric project on the Mala Reka River in western Macedonia. The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy also qualified firms in February to construct Konsko Dam, which is to include a hydroelectric project, on Macedonia’s Konsko River.

In January 2006, Riko DOO of Slovenia received a contract for turnkey construction of St. Petka (formerly the Matka 2 project) on the Kozjak River between the Kozjak project and 3.7-MW Matka 1.

Elem now seeks bids for professional technical supervision of two lots: Lot 1 for geotechnical construction and rehabilitation of landslides and protection of slopes of the access road to St. Petka Dam; and Lot 2 for additional injection works on Kozjak Dam.
