Madagascar’s national utility seeks bids for replacement or repair of six generator coolers for the 58-MW Andekaleka hydroelectric project. Bids are due April 18.
The World Bank’s International Development Association has approved a US$10 million credit to help rebuild the ailing utility, Jiro Sy Rano Malagasy (Jirama). Under the program, the government has called for rehabilitation work at Andekaleka and the 8.34-MW Antelomita and 6.76-MW Volobe hydroelectric projects, as well as consultants to advise on power and water sector reform. Jirama seeks study, design, and replacement of six hydro generator coolers with control and protection equipment and other equipment, or, as an option, repair of the existing units.
Tender documents, in French, may be obtained from the first address below for 100,000 ariary (US$48) each, if obtained from Jirama’s office, or US$250 each, if requested to be sent overseas by express service or electronically. Bids are to be submitted by 3 p.m. April 18 to the second address below.
