Canadian utility Manitoba Hydro has extended the deadline for bids to perform head cover repairs and hoist frame modifications at the 250-MW Kelsey hydroelectric project on the Nelson River in Manitoba. Bids now are due Aug. 7.

The utility previously called for bids by July 31. Kelsey has been undergoing major rehabilitation that began in 2006. The utility now seeks bids for repair of all seven turbine-generators at Kelsey including repair of lower head covers, intake gate hoist modifications for four units, and other miscellaneous and site cleanup and demobilization work as required.
