Canadian utility Manitoba Hydro seeks proposals to provide onsite inspections and other oversight for various types of work on its hydropower system in Manitoba. Bids are due June 25.

Manitoba Hydro took bids in January for another framework agreement, for electrical design engineering services. It called for bids by June 30 for stoplogs, gates and trashracks for the 695-MW Keeyask hydroelectric project and June 12 for mechanical work to refurbish a turbine-generator at the 88-MW Pine Falls hydroelectric project.

The utility now seeks proposals for one or more framework agreements with independent contractors on an “as and when required” basis. It seeks consultants to provide an onsite representative for various types of civil, mechanical, electrical and safety inspections. Such services are to include quality onsite inspections, safety and environmental management, investigations, surveying, progress payment verification, progress reporting and support during commissioning or training.

The solicitation may be obtained via the Canadian Public Tenders MERX Internet site under Manitoba Hydro encouraged bidders to submit proposals electronically via MERX.

Bids are due by 4 p.m., Central time, June 25. For information, contact Manitoba Hydro, Purchasing Dept., P.O. Box 1287 STN MAIN, Winnipeg, MB R3C 2Z1 Canada; Fax: (1) 204-360-6130; E-mail:; Internet:
