Mark your calendar: HydroVision International 2019 seeking abstracts, panelists

HydroVision International is now accepting abstract submissions for the 2019 conference program, conference committee chair Elizabeth Ingram announces.

In addition, the organizers have issued a call for panelists for the panel presentation sessions.

The technical papers program is an opportunity to share your insight and knowledge with more than 3,000 colleagues in the hydro industry who will attend HydroVision International 2019 in Portland, Ore., U.S. Technical papers will be accepted in five broad categories: environmental and social issues, equipment and technology, market trends and strategies, project management and operation, and water management and movement.

Panel presentations will be made in a number of conference tracks: asset resilience and sustainability, civil works and dam safety, marine and hydrokinetic energy, new development, operations and maintenance, policies and regulations, and water and environment. Panel presentations are intended to be informal in nature, involving a moderator-driven panel discussion that includes questions from the audience.

All abstract submissions will be evaluated by the Technical Papers Committee. Preference will be given to abstracts that focus on innovative, practical and proven technologies and methods and those that include involvement for an owner or operator of a dam or hydropower project.

Abstracts that describe the focus and content of proposed papers (maximum of 400 words) are due by Oct. 15, 2018, and all contacts will be notified via e-mail no later than Jan. 4, 2019, as to whether or not their paper has been selected. The presenting author for all selected abstracts will then be invited to make either a technical paper presentation or poster gallery presentation at HydroVision International 2019.

All presented papers will be made available to conference delegates through the online access to papers and presentations program.
