Morocco seeks hydrological monitoring of Oum Er Rbia Basin

BENI MELLAL, Morocco 1/25/12 (PennWell) — The agency governing Morocco’s Oum Er Rbia River Basin seeks bids to supply a network of hydrological monitoring equipment for the basin. Bids are due February 22.

Oum Er Rbia is the location of the 18.6-MW Tanafnit and 23.4-MW El Borj hydroelectric projects near Khenifra in Morocco’s Middle Atlas Mountains. The plants are considered major prestige projects undertaken in central Morocco.

Agence de Bassin Hydraulique de l’Oum Er Rbia (ABHOER) seeks bids to supply a system of instrumentation equipment to measure water levels in reservoirs, canals, and the river as well as rainfall and position of valves. The work would include supplying radio telecommunications equipment and a central monitoring system.
