Nepal seeks environmental, social mitigation for 144-MW Kali Gandaki A hydro project

Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) invites expressions of interest to perform environmental and social mitigation and monitoring of works for the rehabilitation of the 144-MW Kali Gandaki A hydroelectric project on the Kali Gandaki River in western Nepal. Responses are due September 25.

NEA took bids in January to supply a trashrack cleaning machine for rehabilitation of Kali Gandaki A, also called Kaligandaki A. It also took bids previously for turbine parts and a powerhouse auxiliary system and recruited consultants to design and supervise the project’s rehabilitation.

NEA now invites expressions of interest to perform environmental and social mitigation and monitoring of works for project rehabilitation. The work is expected to require 22 months.

Scope of services and criteria for short-listing may be obtained from NEA’s Internet site, www.nea.org.np, or from the address below. Expressions of interest and qualifications, in English, labeled “Expression of Interest (EOI) for Consulting Services: Implementation of Environmental and Social Mitigation Measures and Monitoring Works in KGAHPPRP,” are due by noon September 25 to the address below.
