The National Hydropower Association is pleased to announce Secretary of Energy Ernest Moniz and Federal Energy Regulatory Commissioner Tony Clark as speakers at the upcoming NHA Annual Conference in Washington, D.C.
Moniz, who was unanimously confirmed by the Senate this past April, will be the first sitting Secretary of Energy to attend the conference and the highest-ranking administration official to address its attendees.
“Dr. Ernest Moniz is tasked with implementing critical Department of Energy missions in support of President Obama’s goals of growing the economy, enhancing security and protecting the environment,” NHA said.
Moniz will speak during the conference’s morning plenary session April 29.
Meanwhile, Clark — named FERC Commissioner in 2012 — will speak during the President’s Luncheon on April 29.
Clark, serving a five-year term that expires in June 2016, previously served as a member of the North Dakota Public Service Commission.
“With these two speakers, the NHA Annual Conference promises to be better than ever,” NHA said.
Also speaking during the Tuesday plenary session is Jose Zayas, Director of DOE’s Wind and Water Power Technologies Office.
Zayas’ role at DOE includes management of efforts to improve performance, lower costs and accelerate deployment of hydropower technologies through interactions with federal, state and other stakeholder groups.
The National Hydropower Association Annual Conference takes place April 28-30 at the Capital Hilton in Washington, D.C. Registrations are still available. For more information about the event, visit NationalHydroConference.com.
