Norway developer seeks turbine-generator for 1.4-MW Kvitvella

FAGERNES, Norway 1/11/12 (PennWell) — Norway hydro developer Valdres Energiverk AS seeks bids to supply electro-mechanical equipment for the proposed 1.4-MW Kvitvella hydroelectric project at Fagernes. Bids are due January 20.

Valdres Energiverk proposes a one-unit project utilizing a head of 15.5 meters and flows of 10.5 cms to generate 5 gigawatt-hours annually.

The firm seeks bids to supply a Kaplan turbine, 1.5-megavolt-ampere generator, transformer, controls and switchgear, cooling and drainage facilities, cable installations, intake cone with connection to pipe, and electro-technical equipment of the dam.
