Norway firm seeks replacement runner for 60-MW Sildvik

Norway generator Narvik Energi AS invites applications for pre-qualification to supply a replacement runner for the 60-MW Sildvik hydroelectric project. Responses are due January 18.

Narvik seeks a new Pelton runner, including needles, nozzles, etc. for the single-unit plant on the south side of Rombaksfjorden in Narvik. The unit is designed for a head of 640 meters and speed of 600 rpm. The original unit was supplied by Kvaerner in 1981.

Work would be carried out between February 2007 and February 2009.

Narvik plans to pre-qualify between three and six bidders to be invited to bid on January 22. Bid documents may be obtained from the address below and additional information is to be available on the Doffin Web Site,
