Norway generator awards equipment agreements

Norway hydro generator Narvik Energi AS has awarded partnership agreements to two hydropower equipment suppliers to supply Narvik’s equipment needs for four years.

Narvik awarded a contract worth 30 million kroner (US$4.9 million) to Voith Siemens HPG AS and another contract worth 15 million kroner (US$2.48 million) to VA Tech Hydro AS, who were chosen from among nine bidders.

Narvik said the agreements would cover all existing and future installations at Narvik’s and Nordkraft’s power stations for a maximum of four years.

The scope of supply is to include electrical equipment such as controls, generators, transformers, excitation equipment, and switches, and mechanical equipment such as turbines, governors, and draining and closing components.
