Norway generator seeks replacement unit for 19-MW Vittingfoss

Norway generator Ringeriks-Kraft Produksjon AS invites applications for pre-qualification to help design a replacement turbine-generator set for the 19-MW Vittingfoss hydroelectric project. Responses are due August 13.

Ringeriks-Kraft said it has a site license to add a new Unit 5 of between 8 and 16 MW at the five-unit run-of-river plant in Buskerud County.

It said it seeks a consultant for assistance in engineering design, tender documents, negotiations, detailed engineering design, and follow-up in the construction period. The contract is expected to range from 3.5 million to 5 million kroner (US$580,720 to US$829,600).

Applications for pre-qualification are due by noon August 13. Invitations to bid are to be sent August 17 to a short-list of three to five firms.
