Norway utility seeks equipment for 24-MW Skarg hydro

KRISTIANSAND, Norway 9/12/11 (PennWell) — Norwegian hydro operator Otra Kraft DA seeks bids to supply electro-mechanical equipment for the 24-MW Skarg hydroelectric project in Bykle, Norway. Bids are due September 21.

Otra Kraft DA took bids in 2007 for civil construction of a hydroelectric project at Bykle.

The hydro operator now seeks bids for design, engineering, supply, and installation of two 12-MW vertical Francis turbines, generators, control system, and electrical work. The system is to be built for manual operation as well as fully automatic operation from a control center 30 kilometers away.
