Norway utility seeks turbine for 4.2-MW Solbjorn

Norway utility Lofotkraft Produksjon AS seeks bids for a replacement turbine and other equipment for the 4.2-MW Solbjorn hydroelectric project at Moinarodden, Norway. Bids are due April 18.

Recent reports from Norway indicate hydro market activity is robust. Developer Smakraft AS recently recruited generator manufacturers to supply its portfolio of small hydro projects.

Lofotkraft seeks a 5-MW turbine, governor, and control plan for Solbjorn, which was built in 1956. The work is valued at between 6 million and 9 million kroner (US$1 million and US$1.6 million).

Solicitation documents may be obtained from the Lofotkraft address below until April 4. Bidders are required to participate in a site visit.

To express interest in the solicitation and obtain additional information, see the Doffin Web Site at http://www.doffin.no/Search/Search_Switch.aspx?ID=225462.
