Norway utility seeks equipment for 7.5-MW Juvsana

HAUGESUND, Norway 3/20/12 (PennWell) — Municipal utility Haugaland Kraft AS seeks bids to supply electro-mechanical equipment for the 7.5-MW Juvsana hydroelectric project at Suldal, Norway. Bids are due April 6.

Haugaland Kraft took bids in 2010 to supply electro-mechanical equipment for the 1.8-MW Bordalsbekken hydroelectric project on Norway’s Bordal Creek, one of several small hydro projects being developed by the municipal power supplier.

Haugaland Kraft now seeks electro-mechanical equipment including generator, turbine, transformer, control system, and switching station. The work is valued between 20 million and 40 million kroner (US$3.43 million and US$6.86 million).

Norway utility seeks new EM equipment for three small hydros

MOLDE, Norway 2/28/12 (PennWell) — Power producer Istad Kraft AS seeks bids to supply replacement electro-mechanical equipment for three small hydroelectric projects in Norway. Bids are due March 16.

Istad Kraft seeks replacement electro-mechanical equipment for:
o 3-MW Istad, built in 1918, with flows of 2.8 cubic meters per second and a head of 150 meters;
o 800-kW Langli, built in 1944, with flows of 3.2 cms and a head of 40 meters; and
o 1.4-MW Gronnedal, built in 1947, with flows of 3.2 cms and a head of 64 meters.

An alternative for Gronnedal is refurbishment of existing equipment. Total work is to require 36 months.
