Pakistan’s Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) seeks bids for civil construction and steel work of 300-kW Winder Dam on an engineering-procurement-construction (EPC) basis. Bids are due September 27.

The solicitation is a reissuance of a tender previously offered in 2007-2009 for Winder Dam, on the Winder River in Balochistan Province. WAPDA took bids for construction management in 2007. Last year, the agency sought construction supervision for another project in Balochistan, 4.6-MW Naulong Dam.

Winder Dam primarily is an irrigation project in Lasbela District of Balochistan featuring a 102-foot-tall, 1,696-foot-long earth core rockfill dam.

The EPC contract includes civil engineering works for: contractors camp, offices, housing, roads, telecommunications, and electrical; road relocation; diversion arrangements; main dam; dike; fuse plug; spillway; dam outlet works; main canal and distributaries; and drainage structures. Electro-mechanical works include hydraulic steel works for design, supply, and installation of gates and miscellaneous equipment.

Tender documents may be obtained from the address below upon written application, with Pakistan Engineering Council registration, for 10,000 rupees (US$97) by pay order or demand draft to General Manager (P&D), WAPDA.
