Pakistan’s Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) seeks bids for a guard valve and spares for governor systems and switchgear spares for the 3,480-MW Tarbela Dam hydroelectric project on the Indus River. Bids are due August 25 and 27.
WAPDA took bids in June to supply compressors for controlling a power swing phenomenon of Tarbela turbines as well as transformers, circuit breakers and disconnect switches for the 1,410-MW Tarbela 4th Extension hydropower project. It also took bids in March for replacement circuit breakers, disconnect switches, and current transformers at the main Tarbela project. The Pakistani government committed in February to spend US$51 million in an effort to expedite completion of Tarbela 4 by seven months.
WAPDA now seeks bids by August 25 for Tender No. OP/ITR-470 to supply a guard valve and spares for the governor system of Units 11-14 of Tarbela. Bid documents may be obtained until August 24 from the address below for 1,000 rupees (US$9.82).
The utility also seeks bids by August 27 for Tender No. OP/ITR-471 to supply a spares for MV/LV switchgear for the Tarbela barrage. Bid documents may be obtained until August 26 from the address below for 1,000 rupees (US$9.82).
