Pakistan seeks governors for 1,000-MW Mangla

Pakistan’s Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) seeks bids for digital governors for 1,000-MW Mangla Dam. Bids are due August 30.

WAPDA seeks bids to design, supply, install, test, and commission digital-type governors replacing existing electro-mechanical governors of Mangla Units 7 and 8.

The authority issued a similar solicitation for the governors in 2011 as well as solicitations for excitation and transformers for Mangla. Also in 2011, WAPDA awarded a contract to consulting firms MWH and NESPAK for a feasibility study of upgrading Mangla and likely increasing capacity by about 200 MW.

Bidding documents for the governor tender, No. RE/MPS/MME-1367/74, may be obtained from the addresses below until 11 a.m. August 29 for 1,000 rupees (US$11).
