Paraguay seeks bids to refurbish 210-MW Acaray

Paraguay utility Administracion Nacional de Electricidad (ANDE) seeks bids for refurbishment of the 210-MW Acaray hydroelectric project on the Acaray River. Bids are due May 16.

ANDE seeks proposals for repowering of turbine-generators 3 and 4 as part of an equipment replacement program under way for several years.

Business News Americas reported the utility originally planned to take bids April 23, but extended the due date at the request of prospective bidders. It plans to issue a subsequent solicitation in mid-2007 for modernization of the project’s automation and controls.
