Penstock contract awarded for Norway’s 500-kW Gaula

Mikro- og Minikraft AS has awarded a contract to a Norwegian firm for penstock pipe to upgrade the 500-kW Gaula hydroelectric project in Sor-Trondelag County, Norway.

On behalf of Gauldal Energy AS, Mikro- og Minikraft awarded a 4.2 million kroner (US$820,000) contract to Brodrene Dahl AS. The company was one of five bidders. (HNN 4/11/07)

Brodrene Dahl is to supply 830 meters of 1,400-mm-diameter glass-reinforced plastic pipe to be installed as penstock for the project.

Gauldal Energy’s upgrade of the hydro project is to include two complete turbine-generators including inlet pipework, valve, crane, main transformer, station transformer and control equipment.
