Peru grants study concession for 150-MW El Chorro

Peru’s Ministerio de Energia y Minas has granted a temporary concession to V de V &Asociados S.A.C. to study development of the 150-MW El Chorro hydroelectric project in Peru’s Ancash Department.

Peru’a Andina news agency said February 5 the ministry allowed V de V two years to develop studies related to the project in the districts of Macate, Yupan, La Pampa, Huallanca, and Yuracmarca in the provinces of Corongo, Huaylas, and Santa in Ancash.

The ministry’s Direccion General de Electricidad verified that the concessionaire fulfilled requirements of the law on electricity concessions. V de V is to perform the studies while respecting practical standards, security, the environment, and cultural artifacts.
