Peru’s supervising agency for investment in energy and mining has opened an auction for electricity produced from renewable energy sources including small hydropower. Questions may be submitted until September 22, bidders must register by October 30 and bids are due December 18.
In its fourth solicitation for renewables, Organismo Supervisor de la Inversion en Energia y Mineria (OSINERGMIN) seeks up to 1,750 gigawatt-hours per year from renewables generation including small hydro, to go on line in December 2018.
Last month, Peru’s 19-MW Ocho de Agosto and 8.4-MW El Carmen hydropower projects received financing arranged by Union Group. The energy investor group acquired the 5.3-MW Canchayllo hydropower project in Peru in July.
OSINERGMIN now seeks proposals to supply up to:
- 125 GWh per year from forestry residue biomass;
- 125 GWh/year from agricultural solid waste biomass;
- 31 GWh/year from urban solid waste biomass;
- 31 GWh/year from solid waste biogas biomass;
- 573 GWh/year from wind;
- 415 GWh/year from solar photovoltaics; and
- 450 GWh/year from hydropower projects of 20 MW or less.
Questions may be submitted until September 22. Bidders must register by October 30. Tender documents may be obtained until November 9 from the address below for US$5,000, deposited in the Banco de Credito del Peru (SWIFT: BCPLPEPL), Currency Account No. 193-1522184-1-05 (Code 10000000010) on behalf of OSINERGMIN.
Bids are due December 18. Bidders are to be announced January 11, 2016, followed by an award January 26, 2016.
