Peru seeks renewable energy including hydropower

Peru’s supervising agency for investment in energy and mining seeks bids for supply of electricity from renewable energy sources including small hydropower. Bids are due December 24, 2009.

Organismo Supervisor de la Inversion en Energia y Mineria (OSINERGMIN) seeks 813 gigawatt-hours per year from biomass, 320 GWh per year from wind, and 181 GWh per year from solar energy. It said energy will be purchased from hydroelectric projects smaller than 20 MW under terms in the bidding documents.

Bidding documents may be obtained until December 21 from the address below for US$1,000 deposited in the Banco de Credito, Osinergmin foreign money account No. 193-1522184-1-05. Bids are due December 24, with winners to be named January 15, 2010.
