Poland utility seeks turbine modernization at 312-kW Bobrowice 2

Polish utility Tauron Ekoenergia sp. z.o.o. invites applications for pre-qualification to modernize the two turbine-generators of the 312-kW Bobrowice 2 hydroelectric project on Poland’s Bobr River. Responses are due January 11, 2013.

Tauron Ekoenergia operates 35 hydroelectric projects totaling 125.739 MW in three provinces of Poland. It took bids for similar work at Bobrowice 2 in June.

The utility seeks to pre-qualify firms to modernize equipment of Bobrowice 2, which was built in 1932. Work includes modernization of two turbines, one of 180 kW and the other of 132 kW. It also seeks adaptation of electrical infrastructure, and automatic control of power plants in the system after upgrade.

The work is expected to require 20 months with an estimated cost of more than 1.6 million zlotys (US$515,424).

Pre-qualification documents may be obtained from the address below. Responses, in Polish, are due by noon January 11 to the address below. Tauron Ekoenergia plans to compile a short-list of five firms to bid for the work.
