Reclamation awards contract for bulkhead gates at Hungry Horse hydropower project

The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation has awarded a contract worth US$209,397 to Fabrication Products Inc. to supply two river outlet bulkhead gates for Montana’s 428-MW Hungry Horse hydroelectric project.

Reclamation most recently solicited bids for the work in January.

Hungry Horse is located on the South Fork Flathead River and features a 564-foot-tall concrete dam completed in 1953. Its powerhouse includes four hydroelectric turbines that were uprated and overhauled between 1990 and 1993.
