Reclamation awards contract for electrical system work at Grand Coulee hydropower project

The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation has awarded a contract worth US$399,375 to Western Electrical Services Inc. to supply remote breaker racking systems and breaker remote switch operator systems for the 6,809-MW Grand Coulee hydropower project.

Reclamation sought information on firms able to perform the work in January, which includes the provision of rotary and extraction type breaker remote racking systems, and remote switch operators.

The agency also recently recruited firms to refurbish drum gates and to replace switchyard relays and install a communication system at Grand Coulee.
