Reclamation awards contract for hatchery work

LEAVENWORTH, Wash. 3/16/12 (PennWell) — The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation has awarded a contract worth US$150,000 for work at Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery.

The hatchery is one of three that was built by Reclamation as a fish mitigation facility for the construction of Grand Coulee Dam, which is about 100 miles to the east.

The contract, awarded to Macnak Construction of Lakewood, Wash., calls for the excavation and installation of two manholes on an existing water intake pipeline.

Reclamation says the work is scheduled to begin April 18 and be finished by the end of the month.
