Refurbishment sought for Sweden’s 36-MW Rojdafors

Hydropower operator Fortum Generation AB invites applications for pre-qualification to supply a new turbine runner for Sweden’s 36-MW Rojdafors hydroelectric project. Responses are due October 23.

Fortum seeks supply of a new runner for Rojdafors’ single Francis turbine. Built in 1964, the project has a head of 192 meters and average annual generation of 60 GWh. Work is to be performed in 2010.

Applications for pre-qualification in English or Swedish are due October 23. Fortum plans to send invitations to bid October 29 to a short-list of at least three firms.
