Rehab contract awarded for France’s 2-MW Bimont micro hydro project

Tractebel Engineering SA has been awarded a US$438,390 contract to supervise renovations and foundation drainage of the 2-MW Bimont micro hydroelectric plant.

Societe du Canal de Provence et d’Amenagement de la Region Provencale issued a solicitation for the work in January, which stipulates that Tractebel must complete the project by December 2016.

The Bimont project is located on France’s Infernet River and includes a double-curvature arch dam. The dam was completed in 1952 and helps supply water to several municipalities and for irrigation.
