China’s Shandong Province seeks bids for rehabilitation work on three of 109 high-risk dams in the province. Bids in four solicitations are due May 31, June 4, and June 10.
China has applied to the Asian Development Bank for funding to accelerate strengthening the 109 high-risk dams, including some with hydropower. (HydroWorld 2/26/09) The US$32 million program would strengthen reservoirs of 15 large and 94 medium-sized high-risk projects. Since 1973, 254 reservoirs have collapsed in Shandong Province, killing 225 people.
Renhe Reservoir, Qingzhou County
Shandong Provincial Project Management Office and Shandong Hydraulic Tendering Co. Ltd. invite bids by 9:30 a.m. Beijing time May 31 for two contract packages to rehabilitate Renhe Reservoir in Qingzhou County of Shandong.
