Replacement runner sought for Norway’s 100-MW Naddvik

Ostfold Energi AS invites applications for pre-qualification to supply a new Pelton turbine runner for the 100-MW Naddvik hydroelectric project in Sogn og Fjordane County, Norway. Responses are due January 9, 2009.

Ostfold seeks a 112-MW Pelton runner, preferably in forged material, or alternatively a combination of forged hub and welded buckets, for Naddvik, which was built in 1987. The unit is to be designed for a head of 950 meters, speed of 600 rpm, five jets, and diameter of 2,100 millimeters. Work is to be performed between March 2009 and July 2010.
