Russia seeks meteorological data system training, forecasting

The Russian Federation invites expressions of interest from consultants to aid development and operation of a meteorological data processing system under its national Hydromet modernization program. Responses are due October 1.

Russia previously called for bids by November 6 for modernization of the hydrological network of the Kuban, Ussuri, and Oka river basins and the equipping of gaging stations in other river basins. (HNN 9/15/08)

With funding from the World Bank, the Foundation Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) invites expressions of interest to provide training of employees of the World Meteorological Center in Moscow as well as regional centers and the World Center for Radiological Data in St. Petersburg. Work also includes operation of the meteorological data processing system and producing forecasts using computing platforms of cluster architecture in a Linux operating environment.
